Unbundled Services? Most people have never heard of such a thing! "Unbundled" means that a certain task is separated from the rest of the case and handled independently. For example, in divorce cases, many people are able to reach agreements with their spouse. Once the agreement is reached, most people don't know what to do with it. Are they supposed to write it down and sign it? Are they supposed to file something with the court? One of the unbundled services that we provide is document preparation. We will prepare your settlement agreement in a form that is suitable for filing with the court. We will even take care of the filing for you. This service is considered "unbundled" because we are only handling this one small aspect of your case.
An easy way to understand the concept of unbundled services is to think of our services being offered to you on a menu. When you go to a restaurant, you can order whatever you want, subject to your financial ability to pay for your order. The same concept applies to the services provided by the Center. We will happily provide full service representation if that is what you need and you have the ability to pay a retainer fee (starting usually at $5,000). However, many people do not need full service representation and only need assistance with one (or a few) task(s). If that is the case, one can select from our "menu" of services and purchase only the services that they need.
We will assist you with your decision as to what services you need. There are some cases that really need full service representation. If yours is such a case, we will tell you that up front. If you only need advice and documents prepared, we will tell you that too. The bottom line is…you have a choice.
